Steamed Crab and Roe on Glutinous Rice

Steamed Crab and Roe on Glutinous Rice is an essential dish at Taiwanese wedding dinners. Shin Yeh makes it by mixing glutinous rice and mushrooms, pork, carrots, deep fried red onions, and coriander. This is first steamed. After the rice is well cooked, a raw red crab is placed on the top and steamed with the other ingredients, allowing the sticky rice to absorb the juice of the red crab.
